Pal Joey

It was the last really warm day of the week. The sky had not yet hazed over from the field burn. I took the opportunity to visit my favorite neighborhood youngsters and meet the newest member of the family.

Joey. Note the silky hair on his ears. They tell me that proves he is of 100% Peruvian ancestry. No Americanization of this guy. Can't be bred though. Buck teeth. Bummer. So he's relegated to pet quality and kept for fiber. Small matter. He'll have a wonderful life and Bacchus will pine as we pass the pasture on our walks, wondering why he can't play with these long necked , fuzzy bodied mop heads.

Because, son of mine, they'd run you ragged in 32 seconds and I'm not about to carry you home.

Have a great weekend.

How cute! Those buck teeth give him character.

He's sure got a lot of personality. The fur looks very thick. Welcome to the neighborhood!
