September Full Harvest Moon

My source, the Farmers' Almanac, has conflicting information for this month. In one section it says the September moon this year is the Corn Moon. Sometimes the Harvest Moon does appear in October but since I included the Corn Moon last month - Harvest it is.

The only moon madness I could find proved to be slim pickings unless you want to consider the correlation of your waistline to your religion. No kidding. A story from the Religion News Network in the September 2nd Coeur d'Alene Press was headlined "Obesity common in some churches".

Wow. Baptists headed the list followed by Pentecostals, Catholics, Methodists and the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Now when I'm in a parking lot watching the rotund emerge from the grocery stores with goodie laden bags I'll be wondering what church they attend rather than what those bags might contain!

A plus for those who go door to door to promote their faith; Mormons and Seventh-day Adventists show low levels of obesity. See? Goes to show you all that walking IS good for us - physically for sure and maybe even spiritually.
