This area has been undergoing some soul searching with the disappearance of the Groene children and the murder of their Mother, her live-in and a 16 year old son. Things like this don't happen here. Well, yes they do. It's a wake up call of the worst kind. It's troubling, to say the least, that this type of horror is creeping into small town America.
It has been a tough time for kids. What is it in ones psyche that permits unspeakable cruelness and horror to be visited on children. They are supposed to be our future, not our victims.
