It never ceases to amaze me how the great unknowns weigh in on Huckleberries and let we who readily identify ourselves know what uninformed idiots we are. Such has been the case lately, anyway, regarding the Boundary County "girl in the fire" case.

There has been a great deal of misinformation, poor judgment, honest questioning and anger about the case and its handling. None of the questions put forth have been satisfactorily answered in my opinion but then none of the direct participants have participated in the discussion.

I understand those of you living in the area want to put the best face possible on what appears to be a tarnishing event. Many of you claim to know the players and defend them.

However, in fairness to the rest of us who have entered the fray, we've brought forth legitimate questions based on the information available to us through the press. Quite frankly, I have more trust in a reporter who puts his or her name and that of his paper on a story than nameless finger pointers lurking around a blog.

Mr. Oliveria has chosen to allow anonymity. We have been made to understand its because you need it to protect yourselves from the very actions we are questioning. Retribution. I don't want to know what world you live in. I prefer one where I can have my say, be it right or wrong, whether you agree with it or not - and NOT be afraid.

Freedom of speech - or something like that.
